Lighting is the unsung hero behind every beautiful photo booth snap. Whether it's a wedding, corporate event, birthday or just a simple selfie, the right lighting setup can transform ordinary photos into unforgettable keepsakes. And, even to my surprise all these events later, people notice when the right lighting is being used and I still get surprised at the comments on it. At Shutterpod, we know that even the best camera can’t compensate for poor lighting, which is why we invest in professional-grade lighting for every booth.

A great photo booth lighting setup typically includes a main light source positioned directly in front of the subject. For us, that usually comes from the ring light on the booth itself. Fill lights on either side or a soft box positioned high above the booth, help minimise the shadows, especially on the backdrops, and accentuate facial features, skin tones and even eyes (yes blue eyes can become even bluer!) Our softboxes soften the light, making everyone look their best by reducing harsh shadows and blemishes.

The quality is in the details. Whilst we know that professional studio photographers can control the lighting in their environments and can take the time to adjust lighting with every individual shot, we adjust light intensity, try to match color temperatures, and even experimenting with lighting angles when we are setting up the booths, so that the flattering lighting effects work for everyone.

When you step into a Shutterpod booth, you’re stepping into a mini studio designed to make everyone shine. Let us light up your next event and capture memories in the best possible light (yes the pun was intended :-).
